Maps, illus., photos, ports., appendices, roster, 407 pp. This is the combat record and personal history of a late war unit that was formed to defend Richmond. As part of Gary's Brigade, the 7th saw continuous action north of the James in the summer and fall of 1864. The last Confederate unit to evacuate Richmond, they formed the rear guard of Lee's Army during the retreat and were part of the last charge at Appomattox Court House. Mint in Decorated Cloth.
